"But, really, why does anyone create? You feel a... a restlessness inside, a need to make something new, something no one has ever seen before. You want to add to the beauty and the richness of the world with a gift, an offering that is uniquely yours. It's an act of selfishness and generosity, all rolled into one."

A Tribute

The pattern is Jane Eborall's Cat Standing. I had to add a couple of extra cut and ties and change the order of a few rings in order to change colors where I needed to. I also made the tail longer by one ring and chain, because Poly's tail was very long and elegant. Overall, though, I'd say this is a pretty good representation. Especially the whiskers, which on the real Poly were rather extraordinary.

  1. So cute! I love this cat of Jane's, tatted this and the sleeping one too.

  2. A wonderful tribute to Poly!
    Fox : ))

  3. A lovely kitty. The cat who owns the house on the ridge is a marble kitty with a ringed tail. She is amazing!
    I do love Jane's patterns...

This is my first visit, but won't be my last...

Happy Tatting from a Shuttle Tatter..

  4. Oh, that's fantastic. Thanks for showing that on your blog. It's made me want to tat the cat again now!!!

  5. Aw Shucks!
That came out so like Poly, lovely tribute.
